Senna is a Brazilian linguist, full professor at UERJ, the State University of Rio de Janeiro, and a research fellow at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and the Faperj Foundation. Current investigations address the structural properties of semiotic in-use systems and the occurrences of representational hybridism and metaphorical systems frameworks. Photography plays a central role in his research, both as a complex, multi-categorial text genre and as a unique source of knowledge about cognitive diversity.
